Raised beds have become a very popular feature in gardens today. Sold in all sorts of different materials, shapes and sizes, they can be both useful and attractive at the same time.
The main materials used to create these wonderful raised beds are wood and metal, although some are available in UPVC, too.
Wood is the more traditional option, giving a softer cottage garden feel. Even so, they can be used to great effect in a modern garden design. You can find some amazing ones here.
Metal raised beds tend to be flatter, shinier and therefore sleeker, being well suited to a modern design style. Find out more about these sleek, contemporary style, metal raised beds here.
There are standard sizes, heights and colours - Anthracite Grey and Heritage Green, but can be created as bespoke units in a colour of your choice, and in different heights to suit your space.
Other suppliers offer metal raised beds, too.
For the more unusual, both modern and very traditional, you will have lots of choice here. Not your usual run-of-the-mill ones. There are some gorgeous galvanised steel raised beds.
There are so many metal ones to choose from here, it is mind-boggling!
Ideal for creating interesting and beautiful beds next to pergolas so that plants can grow up the posts and rafters, especially if the pergola is on a patio, they can also be put to many other uses.
Just look at this lovely tiered raised bed housing architectural and vibrantly coloured planting against a white fence. The possibilities are endless.
These beautifully crafted wooden raised beds come in all shapes and sizes, even triangular, so will fit beautifully into any space. With curved corners, and using planed timber, they look classy and cool.
Black is very 'in' at the moment, and here we have a black metal container in the veg patch. Very chic!
This particular make comes in different sizes and styles, with extension options for the long beds. Pop up net covers are available, too, so that crops remain safe!
So pretty, this raised bed with a shelf is reminiscent of staging in a greenhouse. It's just a beautiful feature with its trailing plants. It could be used as a display for annual colour, ringing the changes each year.
Here we have the standard raised beds, available in many different sizes, used for growing vegetables. Of course, they could be used for plants, too. There are other styles available in wood and metal.
There are many traditional raised beds to be found here in lots of different and interesting styles.
How about a raised bed with a seat. If you are unable to stand for long, these are ideal and can be used for both flowers and vegetables.
